About the Role
Nametag is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to manage and optimize their infrastructure while ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of their cloud systems. The SRE will be responsible for overseeing cloud infrastructure, deploying scalable solutions, and enhancing observability across the product stack. This role involves collaboration with various teams to enhance product architecture, optimize CI/CD pipelines, and create tools to improve system reliability and performance.
Responsibilities
- Cloud Infrastructure Management: Oversee the setup and maintenance of AWS cloud infrastructure (CloudFormation, CloudFront, Lambda, RDS, S3).
- Observability: Lead initiatives in uptime monitoring, tracing, and logging to ensure reliability across mobile apps, backend services, and cloud infrastructure.
- Deployment & Service Design: Develop and implement scalable deployment processes and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Developer Enablement: Create automated deployment processes, enhance debugging tools, and ensure a seamless CI/CD culture.
- Security & Compliance: Manage security across infrastructure and applications while ensuring compliance with best practices.
- Collaboration & Leadership: Act as a reliability advocate, guiding teams to resolve complex system issues and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of experience in managing and securing cloud environments, particularly AWS (CloudFormation, Lambda, RDS, S3).
- Proficiency in modern, type-safe languages such as Go.
- Solid experience in Docker and containerization technologies.
- Expertise in designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).
- Hands-on experience with relational databases, specifically managed Postgres.
- Strong familiarity with observability tools like Honeycomb.
- Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and resolve system issues across a distributed infrastructure.
- Proficient in cloud infrastructure management and security best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with multi-cloud environments and related tools.
- Background in working with event-driven architectures and tools like Kafka or Consul.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and collaborative, remote-first environments.
- Exposure to designing and maintaining security systems for high availability and compliance.
