About the Role
The DevOps Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) Lead will join an esteemed Fortune 500 client in Pennington, NJ. This is a full-time, on-site position where the SRE will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, reliability, and performance of systems through proactive monitoring, incident response, and system optimization. This is a leadership role, where you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive improvements in the development and release pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Build, manage, and maintain monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Diagnose and resolve incidents to minimize downtime and ensure operational stability.
- Optimize system performance by identifying bottlenecks and implementing effective solutions.
- Manage and enhance release/deployment pipelines, ensuring safe and reliable delivery.
- Collaborate with development and support teams to improve release processes and developer experience.
- Define, track, and report on Service Level Objectives (SLOs) to meet reliability and performance standards.
- Plan for capacity growth and scalability in system design and infrastructure.
- Design and maintain CI/CD tools and processes for automation across environments.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proficiency with Bitbucket and version control workflows (including pull requests).
- Hands-on experience with Jenkins, JFrog, Ansible Tower, Liquibase, SonarQube, Artifactory, and XLR.
- Strong knowledge of application security frameworks and vulnerability management.
- Solid experience in modern CI/CD practices and automation.
- In-depth knowledge of Linux systems administration.
- Working knowledge of Java and Python for automation and scripting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide team members.
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code and deployment automation.
