Role Purpose
We have a great opportunity for a detail-focused, analytical engineer to become part of a high-performing, fun, and motivated team at nShift!
In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the continuous operation of key infrastructure systems supporting the nShift Delivery platform. The goal is to keep systems running smoothly with minimal upkeep and predictable costs.
Currently, our production systems are hosted on nShift-owned servers located in a colocation data center in Gothenburg. This means hardware maintenance and onsite issue resolution are part of the job. You’ll also take part in a rotating on-call schedule.
A major project underway is migrating our infrastructure to AWS, which you’ll help lead.
Your responsibilities include:

Contributing to our AWS migration project

Working on both production systems in colocation data centers and non-production systems in AWS

Collaborating closely with software engineers to manage and configure hosted systems

Optimizing performance to handle large data volumes and 24/7 availability

Monitoring applications and infrastructure

Automating deployments
-
Handling incident troubleshooting (up to the application layer)

Improving internal processes and workflows
-
Participating in the on-call rotation
Your qualifications:
-
Experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps engineer, System Administrator, or similar role

Proficient in managing Linux-based systems and hardware infrastructure

Skilled in AWS environments and automation
-
Knowledge of network management and security (firewalls, switches, routers, etc.)

Practical experience automating infrastructure and applications using scripting and containerization
Familiarity with tools like:

Ubuntu

Git
-
Apache
-
Tomcat
-
LXC/LXD containers
-
Salt/SaltStack
-
PostgreSQL
-
Elastic Stack
Deep expertise in any of the above tools is a strong plus.
